RECORD OF ADVICE
Role of an Independent Advisor
Advice given is precisely that, and the responsibility of the outcomes rests wholly with the Police. Independent Advisors’ role is to advise those dealing with the incident. They are not investigators, mediators, advocates or intermediaries.
When called upon to provide advice, Independent Advisors should complete a record of all advice given. This is kept by the IAG member and acts as a record for future reference, for both the IAG and Hertfordshire Constabulary.
