IAG Objectives
Aim
To independently advise the Constabulary to achieve safety, justice and reassurance for all the communities within Hertfordshire.
Objectives
- To assist the Constabulary in improving the quality of the
policing service provided to all members of the community within
Hertfordshire by providing independent advice on all aspects of their
business, and;
- To assist in the identification of institutional discrimination in any areas of policy or practice with recommendations on how the Constabulary should tackle such issues.
'Independent advice' has been defined as:
The process that takes place when people independent of the police service monitor, observe or participate in ANY police activity. Advisors have no responsibility for the outcomes of the advice they give but are free to make observations both within the service and to the broader community.
Outcomes
To increase trust and confidence for all of the communities in Hertfordshire and in particular amongst those from the minority ethnic community and vulnerable groups.
Confidentiality Statement:
As an independent advisory group we are solely here for the reflection of minority groups in Herts.
WE can therefore give our assurance that any matters raised will be treated in confidence.
